The lost art of letter writing

We have been receiving handwritten letters in the post lately, and we like it a lot! So one of my A5 paisleys has developed itself into a gift card. We lightly taped it onto some paper which we had written our letters on. It should be able to be easily removed if the beloved recipient wishes to display it as art, or put back in its envelope with the letter and kept*.

Paradise in a paisley project

Meanwhile, in the real world, our roses are out. These are my first three from my highly scented rose bush, Aotearoa - beautiful. Which always makes me feel very summery and optimistic. And so does painting paisley, which I have been working on every morning on awakening, much to the chagrin of the dog, who does not like his morning routine changed.

The end is nigh

The year is nearly over. At least it is in my world. I have decided to take the unusual step of officially finishing my work for the year at the end of November. This ties in with my daughter's last exam, and I think, given the strange year we have had, we deserve to put our feet up a little earlier than we would ordinarily.

Shedding my stuff - what was I thinking? Disclaimer: I am not a model.

Disclaimer #2: my face doesn't really look like this. Or maybe it does and I don't know that.

My goal this summer is to work my way through my wardrobe. Every single item of clothing gets tried on and worn and I'm "feeling" through the process. (Guffaw). No, but seriously, why hang on to stuff if I can't wear it, or it doesn't fit, or I feel like rubbish every time I wear it?
