Today I did this sketchy things for fun for my garden blog. It is supposed to illustrate various uses for marigolds, eg, putting in a vase, making a moisturiser, or putting in a salad. I try to keep the colours down, but because for the background I used a light crayon, it looks a lot sketchier than it actually is. Also with the sketchy writing on it as well, which I want to look a bit girlish and breezy. I know the hand looks strange, you could almost fit another couple of fingers on a hand that wide! However, I am not letting myself worry about being perfect at all. Anyway, who knows, maybe her hubby is putting moisturiser on her face, lol. (Although it's very odd that he is wearing a big emerald ring. But hey, no need for me to bow down to gender stereotypes!)Anyway, the reason I thought I would start doing some of these is because I am doing my daily practising (practise with an s because that is the verb form) because I want to do some simple illustrations for some apps. They will be a lot plainer and bolder than these. I don't know if anything will come of it or my work will be used, but it's good fun to do anyway.
It's nearly valentine's day, and that means that my juleslove font gets a lot of use. It is free from dafont and urgentartwork.com too of course. All I ask, is please don't look at the site in Chrome browser, for some reason it comes up horribly mangled - sheesh, it was only done at the beginning of last year and it already looks dated :( Oh well, onwards and upwards, at least the fonts can still be downloaded.
